Born Marysia Elizabeth Rusnak, Mary E Gaydos was the oldest daughter of Andrej Stef "Andrew Stephen" (November 1, 1877 - February 9, 1947) and Juliana Foczkova "Julia Fosko" (January 6, 1887 - July 5, 1945) Rusnak. Her dad was born of Jakub Rusnak (b. 1853), making her a grandchild and otherwise relative of the Kosice, Slovakia-based Jewish Rusnaks. Her mom was born of the Zlata Idka-based Foczkos and Hanzoks; Crypto-Jewish Byzantine Catholics who had immigrated from Diosgyor, Hungary and assimilated into the Zlata Idka population in order to avoid further Anti Semitism. In light of this; she is unfortunately best remembered as the Crypto-Jewish daughter of Jewish immigrants who escaped then-Austrian-Hungarian Slovakia only to deal with this same daughter betraying their relatives back home during the Holocaust. Specifically; the supposedly-Catholicized Mary was reached out to by cousins who took the risk of reaching out for help from a "meshumadah" relative, and she refused to help these same relatives who would perish in the Holocaust because of her refusal.
